The Benefits of Jamaican Black Castor Oil

Castor oil is a great scalp treatment and helps to prevent hair loss this is because of its:

  • Anti-bacterial
  • Anti-fungal

This makes it great for:

  • Dandruff
  • Folliculitis
  • Scalp infections
  • Improves circulation to the scalp
  • Improves hair growth
  • Helps with scalp PH levels
  • Helps in supporting the Keratin in hair
  • Helps to make your hair stronger
  • Smooth hair shaft
  • Hair becomes less fizzy

Jamaican Black Castor oil is a very thick and heavy oil and may take some getting used to at first.

How I Use Jamaican Black Castor Oil

Because Jamaican Black Castor oil is a lot thinker than the cold pressed castor oil, I find it necessary to mix it with a thinner oil.

I mix it with Grape seed oil, because grape seed oil is thinner and lighter and mixes well with either of the castor oils.

I use it as:

  • Hot oil treatment
  • Mixed with conditioner for deep conditioning
  • Overnight treatment (covered with shower cap and or cling film (saran wrap).

Jamaican Black Castor oil vs Cold Pressed Castor

The difference between Jamaican black castor oil and Cold Pressed castor oil in my opinion from using both is that Jamaican black castor oil is closer to the plant with less processes so that more of the goodness is held in the oil.

Conclusion

When trying anything new as a hair treatment you need to give it a chance to do its work and to really see the benefits.

When I first started to use castor oil on my hair I used it for a solid 6 months as an overnight oil treatment before washing my hair the next day.  As mentioned earlier this leaves my hair feeling silky soft and more manageable.

I would highly recommend Jamaican Black Castor because many people have gained really good results from using it.

I have had really good results from using it and will continue to use it as part of my hair care routine.  I would also like to mention at this point that I use both types of castor oil at different times.

Let me know what you think of Castor oil being used on hair.  You can leave your thoughts in the comment section below.
