Getting Healthy Naturally does not have to be mind blowing. Just taking one step at a time will get you healthier.
This is not a race or quick fix. it’s a journey.
I am not going to focus on weight loss in this article because in my experience doing the following is a better place to start.
I have found that if you work on getting healthier, you lose weight in the process.
So lets get started on the 8 tips.
Cut Out Fast Foods
You may have heard this over and over, but the facts are that fast foods are not your friends.
Definition of Fast Food: McDonald’s, KFC, Highly Processed foods
Cutting out fast foods, does not have to be done overnight. Take your time and start by looking at what you are really eating.
Highly Processed foods should be avoided as much as possible.
On doing research into Processed foods, I found out that the body does not recognise processed foods as food. Many people that live on this non-food product are actually staving themselves. Unfortunately when the body goes into starvation it will start to store every you eat in order to save your life. Hence, body fat.
Cut Down on Eating Out
Cut down on eating out. Many restaurants are focused on profit not your health.
Definition of eating out: Going to a Restaurant.
Eating out can become confusing when it comes to choosing what to eat. So in my opinion it is better to cut down on eating out, rather than putting yourself under pressure looking at the menu trying to find that best thing to order.
Cutting down on eating is a lot better than cutting it out altogether. Eating out is for many of us is a way of socialising.
Loving yourself where you are right now, is so important. Many times we are so hard on ourselves and looking at where would like to be.
In my experience loving yourself where you are right now is a brilliant place to start becoming healthier.
Loving yourself, takes the pressure off. After all yourself is what you have, like it or not. So just like it and know this….
You are the Boss of you.
Look at yourself in the mirror and say hi. This may sound a little out there, but when was the last time you really looked at yourself in the mirror. I mean really looked at you.
Start moving more, this will get your circulation system moving, and burn more calories.
When you start journey on becoming healthier, there is no need to go to the gym. That is too much too soon.
Get yourself a couple of cans and stand up straight and swing your arms back and forth. This sounds easy but your moving.
You could also try sitting on a chair with your back straight and then get up off the chair in a standing position and then sit down again without using your hands to do so. you can do this five to ten times a session. Sounds simple but do not be surprised if you break out in a sweat doing this one.
There are a lot of simple but effective exercises you could do but remember, you are just starting out and moving is the most important part. The above are just suggestions. Build Your Awareness on What you are really Eating
Start building you awareness on what you are really eating. Start a log for a week and at the end of the week take a look and see if you are eating any empty calories.
Empty calories are non foods like sweets, sodas, potato chips etc. These foods just keep you slow. they serve no purpose. Your body does not know what to do with these non-foods. So the body just stores in the body and that is where it stays. Do absolutely nothing.
If you are looking for weight loss, well if you stop eating these, you will see weight loss.
Adding Nutrient Rich Foods
Adding nutrient rich foods to your daily intake will make the world of difference to you health.
There are so many Nutrients that you can add to your daily intake. I will give you an introduction to this subject matter to get your started.
Eat Fresh Fruit NOT fruit juice. Fruit juice is far too concentrated and can induce medical problems in the future. Eating the whole fruit is far better because of the fibre content.
Adding protein to your diet will help the body to repair itself. Proteins – milk, cheese, beans, seafood to name a few.
I do not want to go too deeply into this subject because I do not want to overwhelm you with too much information and at this stage, this will be the next stage of your growth in getting healthy naturally.
Drink More Water
Drinking water will make a big difference to your health. A lot of people are walking around unaware that they are dehydrated. This is a real problem when it comes to maintain a healthy body. Drinking enough water can reduce or even stop headaches, joint pains and much more.
Challenge yourself to add one of the above a week. This is not race as I mentioned before.
I do the 80/20 rule. Which is eat healthy 80 percent of the time.
In challenging yourself do not make it a chore. It is a lifestyle change. If you have a bad week, that’s great because you recognise that it was a bad week. This means that you are growing in your awareness and you know the difference.
A bad week just means you will have a better one next week. Remember love yourself where you are NOW.
My Final Thoughts
Remember this is not a race, it is a journey. Be good to yourself and know that when you introduce things into your life at your own pace, you are more likely to stick with it.
These are a few tips that really helped me to maintain being healthy naturally and without the added stress. These steps will build a more solid foundation which you can continue building on over time.
A little change can make a BIG difference.
